Terms of service

The rules that apply when you register for an event run by PR Chess World on OwnlyOS.

Version v1.0 · in effect since 24 August 2026

This is a draft pending legal review. It describes accurately how the platform handles data today, and every consent record pins the version in force when it was granted — but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should not be relied on as final.

1. Entries and eligibility

An entry is confirmed only once the organiser has verified your UPI payment reference. Until then your place is provisional and may be released if the category fills. Age categories are determined by date of birth as at the date the tournament begins.

2. Payments and refunds

Entry fees are paid directly to the academy by UPI. OwnlyOS does not hold your money at any point and is not a party to the payment. Refunds are issued by the academy at their discretion, except where a schedule change makes the event unattendable — in which case a full refund is due within 14 days.

3. Schedule changes

The organiser may change round times, venue or category structure. Every registered player is notified by email, and the notice states whether the change makes your entry refundable.

4. Conduct

The FIDE Laws of Chess apply. The arbiter's decision on the day is final. Players found using engine assistance are disqualified and reported to the federation.

5. Liability

The academy is responsible for running the event. OwnlyOS provides the software only and is not a party to the contract between you and the academy.

6. Changes to these terms

We version every change. You agreed to the version shown in the bar above; earlier versions remain readable from the same bar, and a change never applies retroactively to an entry already made.
